Costa Mesa, CA (September 10, 2019) – The 2019 Vans BMX Pro Cup Series World Championships heads to Huntington Beach, CA September 13-15 for the grand finale event that will crown two new BMX champions. Located in the heart of the action sports industry, the Vans Pro Cup World Championships event will be held in Huntington Beach, CA this weekend, at the beloved Vans Off the Wall Skatepark. 

 Showcasing the world’s best in BMX park terrain, the final field for the Pro Cup World Championships will offer an exciting array of BMX creativity, innovation, and fun for fans and spectators. World-renown BMX stars such as Jason Watts, winner of two events this season, reigning champion Larry Edgar, known for his heroic airs, and all-terrain ripper Sergio Layos from Spain will all be in attendance, hoping to take the prestigious Pro Cup crown. Perhaps one of the fastest growing divisions in action sports, the women’s BMX field keeps impressing. With talented names such as Natalya Diehm, Teresa Azcoaga, Perris Benegas and Angie Marino at the top of their game, the Pro Cup finals will be an inspiring story to witness, as we watch the best women in the game earn their way to the top.

 Kicking off the weekend, Vans will host the last Men’s regional qualifier for the season on Friday, Sept. 13, encouraging the emerging BMX talent from the region to earn their way into the world championships field. The event is open to all prospective competitors and the top 3 riders from the last chance RQ will advance into the Semi-Finals to join the tour pros. The women’s competition remains open for registration, welcoming the progression of BMX to all interested women competitors.

Recently renovated to meet true park-terrain custom-spec qualfiications, the Vans Off The Wall Skatepark’s new transition section measures over 17,500 square feet, featuring the newly remodeled flow bowl and a competition reverse combi bowl. The new flow bowl designed in conjunction with Vans and California Skateparks offers a modern, competition style flow bowl that offers variety and creativity from riders of all levels.

 With varying depths including a shallower mini ramp section, round and square deep end sections equipped with pool coping and tile, a vert wall, a rail-top layback bank, a giant VANS logo feature, along with several other mini spots, the BMX Pro Cup riders will have more than enough opportunities to execute their dream lines throughout the course.
